Owen Sound District Secondary School welcomes all learners, and provides educational programs to fit all students' needs.
SPECIAL EDUCATION
OSDSS provides an extensive developmental learning program that is diverse and flexible. Our developmental learners may attend for seven years. The program is designed to support our students' intellectual, social and emotional growth and to assist students reach their potential by developing skills and gaining independence.

THE BASE
The Base is a resource room is for all students. It is open throughout the school day. Students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) can use The Base for extra supports and meet with their Learning Resource teachers to discuss their IEPs and use the accommodations that are in place to support their learning. All students may access The Base for a quiet work space, to receive one on one supports, or to make up for missed tests or assignments. The Base also acts as a technology hub for students who may benefit from assisted technology.

STUDENT SUCCESS
The Student Success Team is located in Room 116. Student Success teachers work to support all learners and provide academic and social supports. Students may access technology from the Student Success office or work in their quiet space. The Student Success Team works as part of our In School Needs Team with our Administration, Guidance and Attendance Counsellors, and meet each week to develop plans to support our students and complete referral to alternative programming and community supports.

GUIDANCE
The Guidance office is open daily from 8:30 am - 4 pm to assist students with academic and social needs. The Guidance Team provides assistance with course selection, scheduling issues, and post-secondary planning. The Guidance team also provides personal counselling for student concerns and can work with students to arrange additional supports from our community partners. Students are welcome to make an appointment to speak to a counsellor by completing the Microsoft form below. or they may pop into the office to request an appointment.
